Sli Cualann Race Series

Slí Cualann Autumn Race Series 2017
Slí Cualann is running an Autumn race series of short races for members and other runners. The dates and venues are:

Greystones: 2 miles, Wednesday 23rd August, 2017, Registration 7.00 pm at Shoreline, Race 7.30 pm
Bray (Shanganagh Park): 3 km, Wednesday 6th September, 2017, Registration at 7.00 pm, Race at 7.30 pm
Wicklow Town: Thursday 19th October, 2017, Details TBC
Rathdrum (Avondale) Trail run, Sunday 19th November, 2017, Details TBC

Entry fee: 5 Euro per race

National Half Marathon

Well done to all Bray Runners and Sli Cualann athletes who took part in the National Half Marathon on Sunday 13th August. 
Michael Knight ran a new Pb of 1.32.09 and was 5th in 0/60 Category. Elaine Casey, continued her fine season, running a new Pb of 1.57.14. Dario Zanchetta, ran 2.05.15 in his first half marathon.

Bay 10K

Well done to all our athletes who took part in the Bay 10k earlier today. Great times and a number of Pbs.
Colm O'Heigeartaigh finished in 19th place in a time of 37.26. Bernard Quinn ran a fine 46.46. John Tauli ran 47.46. Marie Curran 49.33 and Mary Hayde 49.36, both recording new Pbs. Dario Zanchetta ran 55.59. Caoimhe Guilfoyle ran 57.18. Mary Deery ran 57.53.
Mary O'Connor ran a new Pb of 58.40. Stefanie Unland ran 61.43. Ana Molina and Elaine Nuzun both recorded 74.04.

The race was won by John Coghlan, MSB, in 30.44, with Michelle Cox, Newbridge AC, 39.07 first woman home.

Indaver Duleek 10k

Well done to all our athletes who took part in the Duleek 10k, on Sunday 6th Aug. We had 3 new Pbs recorded over what is a very tough course. Paul Gannon, Peter Doran and Elaine Casey all recorded new marks. Paul ran 48.59, almost a minute off his Dunshaughlin time and over 4minutes off his time in Enniscorthy in Febuary. Peter ran 49.00, 35 seconds off Dunshsughlin and 3min 58 off Enniscorthy. 
Elaine ran 52.34, 4th time she has reduced her 10k Pb this season.
Dave Carraher 47.22, ran his best 10k time since Sept 2014.
Des O'Hare ran 41.32; Jason O'Connor ran 43.48; Kevin Burns ran 52.49; Richard Kavanagh ran 42.41 and was 2nd 0/60. 
Our good friend Grainne Butler ran a new Pb of 47.25 and our fellow Sli Cualann Lynne Duffy ran 43.42. Well done to all.

Fingal 10k 23rd July/ Dublin Graded T/T 19th July

Congratulations to all our athletes and friends who took part in the Fingal 10k on Sunday 23rd July. Excelent performances from all, numerous Pbs also. At the Dublin Graded T/F meeting on 19th July, Ashling Smith ran her final prep race before she heads to the European Masters T/F C/ships. Ashling, clearly in great form, once again broke her 1500mtr Pb, running an excellent 5min 4sec.

Bettystown 5mile

It was a great night for Bray Runners at the Bettystown 5ml. We had 5 athletes take part, in what is a fine race, run over a tough but fair 5ml course. There are prizes for the first 6 male and female athletes and 1st and 2nd in all age categories. Stephen O'Kennedy ran a new Pb of 28.15 and finished in an excellent 6th place. Suzanne Foot was also in fine form, finishing 4th in the womens race in a time of 31.56. 
Jean O'Kennedy, final race before she heads off to European Masters Half Marathon, ran 35.43 and was 1st in her age Category. Noelle Thorpe, getting back to her best, finished 2nd in her age Cat, in a time of 36.40. Richard Kavanagh, ran 34.19 and was 1st in 0/60 Cat. 
The icing on the cake came though when Suzanne, Jean and Noelle were announced as winners of the Womens Team Competition. Well done to all.
Freddie Keron, 24.38, was 1st home and Niamh Devlin was 1st woman in 29.36.
