Trim 10mile

Well done to all our Bray Runner athletes, who took part in the Trim 10mile, on Sunday 4th Feb 
Some great times and Pbs were recorded
Gary Condon finished 3rd O/A (4th last year) and was 1st O/45 home, in an excellent 54.45.
Ian McGrath, continued his great form with a 55.22, 5th 0/A and 2nd 0/40.
Joe Cawley, getting back to his best ran 58.33 and was 3rd 0/45.
Joe Kelly recorded a new Pb of 60.17.
Gordon McWilliams ran a new Pb of 61.16. Will Foot ran a fine 64.51. 
Suzanne Foot, 65.56, 2nd in age Category, was another to run a new Pb. Helen Barry, making a great return to racing, ran a fine 67.43. Great to see Helen back racing.
Georgina Devlin, 75.18, also ran a Pb. Karol O'Loinsigh ran 76.11 in his first time over the distance.
Peter Doran ran 83.21 and took almost 6 minutes off his previous best. Richard Kavanagh ran 73.05.

Raheny 5mile, 28th Jan 2018.

Well done to all our athletes, and our fellow Sli Cualann athletes, who took part in the Raheny 5mile earlier today. Some great times recorded and a number of Pbs as well.
Stephen O'Kennedy ran an excellent new Pb of 27.50, 25 seconds off previous best.
Paul Allen ran a fine new Pb of 30.15, 59 seconds off his previous best. Sarah Baryga ran 30.29. Michael Knight, 32.52, Pb, and 4th 0/60. Jean O'Kennedy, 34.52, was another to record a new Pb and was 2nd in her age category. Mary Hayde, running the distance for the first time ran a fine 37.46.
Noelle Thorpe, getting back to her best, ran 38.11. Aoife Stokes, 42.41, new Pb by over 3 minutes. Sandra Brady ran 42.46, good running, as Sandra is just recovering from flu. Dario Zanchetta, 43.00, new Pb by over 4minutes. Paul Gannon ran 45.04 and Mary O'Connor,43.41, took over 4 and a half minutes off her Pb.
Well done also to the Sli Cualann Women's team who finished 5th, an excellent result in against top class opposition.

At the NIA Live on Thursday 24th Jan, Ashling Smith continued her build up to the European Indoors in March, by running 2 new Pbs. Ashling recorded 5.22 for the Mile and was timed at 5.02 for 1500mtrs. Great running.

Another Fine Run From Ian McGrath

On Saturday 13th Jan, Ian McGrath put in another fine performance, finishing 6th overall in the BHAA, BOI, 4ml C/C in Tymon Park. Ian ran 23.01, in very tough conditions.

Leinster Masters C/C C/ships

Well done to all our athletes, and all our fellow Sli Cualann athletes, who took part in the Leinster Masters C/C C/ships in Dunboyne on Sunday last, 14th Jan.
Ashling Smith continued her excellent C/C season by winning Gold in the 0/45 category, 5th 0/A. Dominic Horan, running another fine race, was just pipped for a medal in the O/50 Category, finishing in 4th place. 
Mary Hayde, running her first C/C for our club, also ran a fine race to finish 9th 0/45. Both Jenny Lawler, 18th 0/35 and Sharon Bailey 28th 0/40, ran really well and will have gained a huge amount of experience in their first C/C season.
The Sli Cualann Women's Masters team, Ashling Smith, Catherine O'Connor, Ann Marie Kenny, Mary Hayde, Jenny Lawler and Sharon Bailey won an excellent SILVER MEDAL finishing 2nd to a top class Sportsworld AC team.
Congratulations to Clive Quinn won won Gold in the 0/40 category.

Club Race League 2017

The result of the Bray Runners 2017 Race League was confirmed earlier this week. 3 athletes finished level on points, Jackie O'Neill, Elaine Casey and Paul Allen. The rules state that in the event of a tie the athlete with the most Pbs in their 6 counting races shall be declared the winner. Jackie had 5pbs in her 6 counting races, Elaine had 4 and Paul had 3. Jackie O'Neill is therefore declared the winner of our 2017 Race League, Elaine 2nd and Paul is 3rd. Sandra Brady was 4th.
Congratulations to Jackie and well done to all who took part.

Kildare Half Marathon

Well done to Elaine Casey who took part in the Kildare Half Marathon, which took place in Donadea Forest Park yesterday, 13th Jan. Despite the bad weather on the day Elaine ran a fine 2.02.26. 
Well done also to our good friends, Christy Maloney, 1.29.39, 1st 0/50 and Grainne Butler 2.00.42.
