Roscommon 10ml. Jean in the Prizes.

Well done to all our Bray Runners and Sli Cualann athletes who took part in the Roscommon 10ml and the Clontarf Half Marathon and 5ml earlier today. Despite the very warm conditions some fine times were recorded.
At the Roscommon 10ml, Jean O'Kennedy ran 75.30, was 14th woman home and 3rd in age category. Richard Kavanagh ran 73.34 and was 2nd 0/60. Emer Hynes, doing a bit of pacing, ran 1.40.07 and Elaine Casey ran a new Pb of 1.40.10. Mary O'Connor, running the distance for the first time, should be well pleased with her time of 1.41.22. Well done also to Laura McCann (Inbhear Mor/Sli Cualann) who, despite being affected by the heat, ran 80.25. The race was won by Mick Clohisey, Raheny Shamrocks, in 49.31 and 1st woman home was Sinnead Foran, Athenry AC, in 67.03.
Very well organised race with great post race food, which included a very tasty chicken curry.
At the Clontarf Half Marathon, Sharon Bailey ran 1.52.24 and Marie Curran ran 2.03.56. The race was won by David Murray in 78.15 with Shirley Coyle first woman home in 88.44.
In the Clontarf 5ml Maureen O'Rourke ran 46.07. Well done to all.

Docklands 5k/St Coca's 5k

Well done to Jean O'Kennedy and Georgina Devlin who both finished 2nd in their age category at the Docklands 5k., which was run on Thursday 28th June. Jean ran 22.06 and Georgina ran 22.39. Fine times in very warm conditions.

Well done to all our Bray Runners and our fellow Sli Cualann athletes who took part in the St Coca's 5k earlier this evening, Friday 29th June. Conditions were tough as it was a very very hot evening.
Ian McGrath was our first athlete home in 16.20, 24th overall and 4th 0/40. Dominic Horan continued his impressive season, running 17.10 and was 2nd 0/50. Paul Allen continued his return to racing after his recent injury, running a fine 18.09. John Ashworth was very happy with his new Pb of 20.26 and Richard Kavanagh ran a season's best of 21.21 for 4th 0/60. Siobhan Butler also ran a season's best of 22.18 and was 5th in age category. Mary Hayde ran 22.44 and was 5th in her age category. Ashling Smith, doing a bit of pacing, ran 23.00 and Paul Gannon was another to run a season's best of 23.01. Peter Doran, who was badly affected by the heat, ran 25.25. Well done to all who took part.

National T/F League, Div 1, Round 1

Well done to both Sli Cualann Women and Men's Teams who took part in round 1 of the Irish Life National T/F Inter Club League, Div 1, in Templemore on Sunday 24th June. Fine performances from all, including our own Ashling Smith who finished 2nd in the 3000mtrs in an impressive 11.00 minutes. The men finished in 6th place and the women's team finished in 3rd place.

Strawberry 5ml/Irish Runner 5ml

Congratulations to Sandra Brady who was 1st in her age category at the Strawberry 5ml, in Wexford, on Sunday 24th June, Sandra ran 44.51. In the same race Elaine Casey ran 46.23 in very tough conditions over a tough course.
At the Irish Runner 5ml, also on 24th June, Paul Gannon ran 45.26 and Mary Deery ran 47.14. Well done to all.
St Coca's, Kilcock, 5k, Friday next 29th June, fast course, good numbers travelling.

Dunshaughlin 10k/Shanganagh Parkrun

Well done to all our athletes who took part in the Dunshaughlin 10k and the Shanganagh Park Run 5k on Saturday 23rd June. Both races are part of our 2018 Race League.
In Dunshaughlin Joe Cawley ran an excellent 35.29. Joe Kelly, first race since Rotterdam also ran a fine 38.00. Paul Allen was very pleased with his 38.31, fine run from Paul as he continues his return to racing after his recent injury. Karol O'Loinsigh ran a new Pb of 44.23, over 2 minutes off his previous best and continues his run of a Pb in every race he has run in 2018. Paul Gannon, fresh from his Wexford marathon, ran 54.24. Jackie O'Neill ran 61.02, just missing out on a Pb by 5 seconds. Mary Hayde 61.04 and Peter Doran 61.03, both doing a bit of pacing, completed the Bray Runners line up. The race was won by Hiko Tonosa, DSD, in 30.16, Kerry O'Flaherty was first woman home in 34.35.

At the Shanganagh Parkrun 5k, Will Foot ran 19.33, Dominic Horan, taking it easy after his fine midweek 3000mtrs, ran 19.49. John Ashworth ran 21.10. Norbert Van Woerkom 26.31, Mary O'Connor 27.08, Siobhan Butler 27.09, Dolores Gilliland 27. 36 and Britta Luebbert 39.05. Well done to all. 
Next on the list is St Coca's Kilcock 5k on Friday next 29th June.

DAB Graded Meet

Ashling Smith and Dominic Horan competed in the DAB Graded Meet #5 at a cool and breezy Tallaght track last Wednesday evening, 20th June. Ashling was 3rd in her 800m heat in a time of 2:31.59 and Dominic was also 3rd in his 3,000m heat in 09:58.04.
