Novice Cross Country

    The Wicklow C/C, Novice and Even ages, C/ships will take place on Sunday 7th Oct in Roundwood, first race at 11am. We would ask all athletes who are eligable, which is almost all, to make every effort to be available. Please remember the more Bray Runners in the field the bettter chance we have of taking the team prizes. If unable to take part please come along and support your fellow athletes. Thursday 20th sept

  On thursday 20th Sept, we had another large turnout, of 30 athletes, for our thursday evening session. One group, led by Denis, did a 1hr fartleg session and Dermots group did a pyramid session. Again we would ask if any of our athletes, not training on thursday evenings and with an hour to spare, to come along and help to organise the sessions.  

Weekend races

An interesting event taking place in the grounds of Malahide Castle on Saturday is the Third Age 5k. for teams with 3 generations, further information on the runireland website. On Sunday 23rd RATHFARNHAM A.C hold their annual 5k at 10am, you can enter on line or on the day. This is also a Sli Cualann target race. Also on Sunday there is the Faythe Harriers 10k in Wexford at 11am.

Weekend round up

On Saturday 15th Sept, in the Dublin Half Marathon, Colette Mason ran 1hr 59, 11s. This was Colettes first half since joining the club and was well under her target time of 2hrs, well done. In the same race Martin Francis ran 1hr 20m 49s and picked up 1st prize in the O/50 category.

On Sunday 16th sept, in the Ratoath 5k, Martin Francis ran 18.13 and finished 2nd 0/50. Richard Kavanagh ran 19.43 in the same race. Please send your results to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

New Members

On behalf of our chairperson, committee and members, we would like to welcome Susan Dowd, Jackie O,Neill and Dave Carragher to our club. We look forward to seeing you at our various training sessions and hope that you will enjoy being a part of Bray Runners.

Thursday Training.

 Tonight, Thursday 13th Sept, we had another large turn out, 25 in total. Seans group did a 1hr fartleg session and Dermots group did a very tough hill session. Both sessions being done with the Wicklow Novice C/C, on 7th Oct, in mind. We hope all eligable athletes will make every effort to be there. The group also welcomed one newcomer tonight, Suzie, we hope she enjoyed it. Next week will see Seans group again doing a fartleg session and Dermots group doing 300 and 400 repeats.

Our Club was founded in 1983 primarily as a marathon running club, however over the years we have introduced a juvenile section and cover a wide range of athletic disciplines.
