In the St., Laurence O'Toole AC, Carlow, 10k, yesterday, Dominic Horan ran an excellent 36.33 to finish in 6th place, as he finalises his preparations for the London Marathon. Mens race was won by Pat Byrne, Tinryland AC in 33.10 and Paula Grant won the womens race in 39.23. There was also a 5k race which was won by Niall Sheil, St. Killians, in 15.59, Jackie Carthy won the womens race in 18.19.
In the Marley parkrun, 5k, Joe Kelly, 18.40; Christy Maloney, 19.40 and Bernard Quinn, 20.40, were all very pleased with their mornings work.
There was some excellent performances from our athletes in the MSB Festival 5k. The race was won by John Travers, Donore Harriers, in 14.07, with Fionnula Britton winning the womens race in 15.33. Neil Wiktorski finished 8th in 15.19 a new Pb, Gary Condon, 15.48 also a new Pb, 1st O/40; Colm O'Heigeartaigh, 18.19 a huge Pb; Noelle Thorpe, 20.08, a new Pb and 1st O/50; Charlotte Stevens, 21.45, 3rd O/50 and also a new Pb; Dolores Gilliland, 22.41, 3rd O/55 and yet another Pb; Emer Hynes, not to be outdone, a new Pb in 22.59, these are the Bray Runners results to hand.

Round 2 of the 2014 Fit4life League, Rathdrum 5k, was held on Thursday last 6th March. Joe Cawley fresh from his great win in the Kinvara Half Marathon, had to settle for 2nd place on the night, running 17.11, 8 seconds behind Damien Lawless, first athlete home. Joe was 1st O/40. Bill Stanley ran a fine 18.43, 3rd O/40; Colm O'Heigeartaig 19.15, Pb, 4th Senior,; Charlotte Stevens, 23.01, 1st O/50 completed the Bray contingent.
Next race in the series will be in Shanganagh on WEDNESDAY 2ND APRIL, and it will be run over 3k.
Slí Cualann will host a special training session for members on Thursday March 13th., at the athletics track at Charlesland, Greystones. The focus of the training session is on preparing squads for the National 10km Road Championships and the Road Relays. The training session starts at 7:00pm and is open to all members.
Our Club was founded in 1983 primarily as a marathon running club, however over the years we have introduced a juvenile section and cover a wide range of athletic disciplines.
