Gary Wins Roscommon 10 mile, Leanne Fourth in Kildare.
Gary Condon ran an excellent 56.48 to win the Roscommon 10ml road race this morning. Another PB for Gary, in what has been a great season so far, and surely more to come. Adrian Smith, Roscommon Harriers, was second in 57.37. The womens race was won by Paula Miley in 74.38. A new race on the calendar, an excellent race from all reports, good prize money and great food afterwards.
The Carbury 10k was also held yesterday, conditions were extremely hot and humid, making life difficult for the almost 200 athletes taking part. Leanne Geraghty set a new Pb of 47.20 to finish in 4th place in the womens race, Leanne was just pipped for 3rd. Grainne Cunningham, 52.09, and Sandra Brady, 55.02, both did well considering the conditions. The womens race was won by Charlotte Kearney, Donadea, in 38.13, adding to her 2nd place in Kilmore last week. The mens race was won by Kevin Donagher, in 34.19.

Kilmore Quay 5k; Results
The annual Kilmore Quay 5k was held on Saturday 12th July. An unusual road race as it is run over 5 laps of the lovely village of Kilmore Quay, and each race, juniors, ladies and mens is run separately. The course is a tough one, each lap consists of a climb, a downhill and a flat section of almost equal length. The finish is located half way up the climb.
Emer Hynes made a fine return to racing, after her recent injury, she ran 24.32 to finish in 27th place. The race was won by Jackie Carthy, Kilmore AC, in 18.10, only after a tremendous battle with Charlotte Kearney, Donadea, 18.15. Ann Sullivan, DMP AC, finished 3rd in 19.31.
In the mens race Gary Condon ran another fine race, 7th overall in 16.35. The race was won by Niall Sheil, St Killians, 15.41, Pat Byrne, Tinryland, 2nd in 15.50 and Ger Forde, Rathfarnham, 3rd in 16.01. Richard Kavanagh ran 19.45, to take 1st O/60.
