Fit4life Mile, Thursday30th April

Below is the schedule for Thursday's Fit4life Mile which is being held on the track in Greystones.

Time.            Pace Per Mile

7.30pm:       6:30 - 7:30    
7.40pm:       Sub 5:30            
7.50pm:       7:30 - 8:30
8.00pM        5:30 - 6:30 ...
8.10pm:       8:30 +

Wicklow T/F C/Ships and Leinter Road C/Ships

If any of our athletes intend taking part in Wicklow T/F, C/Ships on Friday next 1st May, Seniors/Masters 1500 mtrs please let us know as entries close tomorrow 27th April.
Leinster Road C/Ships, Novice and Masters, Monday May 4th, again if intending taking part please let us know asap. We have a good number already committed to taking part.

Gold for Womens Senior Team at Wicklow C/ships

At last night's Wicklow Road C/Ships our Senior Womens team won the GOLD medal, the full team was Suzanne Foot, Helen Barry, Ashling Smith and Cara Barry. The girls finished ahead of the Kilcoole AC team who were led by Fionnuala Britton.

The Mens Senior team, Neil Wiktorski, Gary Condon, Dominic Horan and James Nangle, took 2nd place,  Kilcoole AC. were the victorious team on the night.

Our Masters, 35/49, Womens team of Georgina Devlin, Jean O'Kennedy and Andrea Murphy, won the bronze medal, behind Ashford AC, and Kilcoole AC. The full team included Sandra Brady, Angela Groome, Rachel Daly, Ana Molina, Elaine Nuzun and Jackie O'Neill.

The Mens Masters Team, Joe Kellly, Gordon McWilliams and Bernard Quinn finished in 7th position. 

Wicklow 5k Road C/ships.

The Wicklow 5k Road C/Ships was held in Ashford this evening, 22nd April. Over 100 athletes took part, 22 of those from Bray Runners. First home, for the third year in a row, was Neil Wiktorski, closely followed by Gary Condon. Gary took Gold in 0/40 cat. Suzanne Foot won gold in the Womens 0/40, with Helen Barry taking Silver and Ashling Smith Bronze. In the Mens O/45, Dominic Horan took Silver and Bernard Quinn won Gold in the O/60 category. In the womens O/50 Jean O'Kennedy added Gold to her recent Leinster 10ml Gold. Sandra Brady won Bronze in the same category. There was also excellent performances from our athletes who took part, including a number of PBs. Well done to Angela and Jason Groome who were taking part in their first competitive race. Full results, team results, times etc as soon as we get them.   

National Road Relays.

We were well represented at yesterdays National Road Relays in Raheny. Suzanne Foot and Ashling Smith were on the Sli Cualann Womens Masters Team and Gary Condon was part of the Mens Masters Team.

The womens team finished in an excellent 4th position, just edged out of 3rd place by Donore. Ashling Kirwan, Parnell AC, ran the first leg, 1mile in 6.01, Suzanne ran leg 2, 2mile in 12.16 and Ashling Smith ran a superb 5.52 for the final 1mile leg. Marvellous times from all 3 athletes.

In the Mens Masters Category there was some fine times recorded by Sli Cualann athletes, Bray Runners Gary Condon ran the 2mile leg for his team in a very impressive 10.29.

The senior men's team was competing in a high quality field. Donal Flannery got the quartet started with a 11:13 clocking for 2 miles. Then Padraig Lennon took over, covering his one mile leg in 5:10. Tim Grummell ran a good 16:02 for the 3 mile section, with Neil Wiktorski bringing the team home with a 10:40 two mile.

K Club 10k

On Saturday 11th April the annual K Club 10k was held. The course is a flat one but conditions were very windy making for a very tough race. First athlete home was Eoin Callaghan in a time of 32.40 with Charlotte Kearney first lady home in 37.19. We had a large group of athletes taking part, Neil Wiktorski, almost back to full fitness, ran a fine 34.54 to finish in 11th place overall. Bill Stanley ran 38.09, Bobby Mitchell, 38.43, 2nd 0/50, Suzanne Foot recorded a new Pb of 39.24, to finish 2nd O/40, Helen Barry, 39.44 and 3rd O/40, Cathy Mitchell ran a new Pb of 48.33, Emer Hynes ran 50.55 and Sandra Brady ran 51.07. Well done to all who took part.

Our Club was founded in 1983 primarily as a marathon running club, however over the years we have introduced a juvenile section and cover a wide range of athletic disciplines.
