National Masters and Inter C/C- Ladies Win Bronze.

Well done to all our athletes and our fellow Sli Cualann athletes who took part in the National Masters and Inter C/C today. With huge entries in each event, competition for places was every bit as tough as the conditions. The Sli Cualann Ladies Masters team (35/49) finished in an excellent 3rd place and win the bronze medal. Suzanne Foot finished a brilliant 9th in her age Cat, closely followed by Ashling Smith 11th, Carol Costello 18th, Ashling Kirwan 21st and Anne Marie Kenny 28th. Jean O'Kennedy ran 17.28 over the 4k course, a brilliant time..., we are awaiting confirmation of her age Cat finishing position. Great effort from all. Billy Tyrrell and Terry Kavanagh both had fine runs, finishing 12th and 5th in their respective Categories.
In the mens Inter event, Stephen O'Kennedy rounded off a great C/C season by finishing in 48th place. Tim Grummell was 37th, Alan Dalton 59th and Patrick Kinsella was 65th. The Sli Cualann team finished in a very creditable 8th place. Results at; http://www.athleticsireland.ie/…/hyland-and-oreilly-take-in…

In the Ferrycarrig, Wexford, 5mile, Jason O'Connor continued to show huge improvement, in running a new Pb of 34.26, over 90 seconds off his previous best, set on the same course 2 years ago. Richard Kavanagh recorded a time of 33.54 to win the 0/60 Cat. Must be one of the best organised races in the country, stewarding, changing facilities/showers and post race food all top class.
