Recent Results, 19th/26th July

At the Roscommon 10ml road race, 19th July, Gary Condon finished in a fine time of 56.39 to finish in 3rd place, an excellent performance considering he was racing up mountains in Prague a few days earlier. The race was won by Mark Kirwan, Raheny Shamrocks, in 52.32, with Jane Ann Meehan first woman home in 62.44. Full results on  http://www.precisiontiming.net/result.aspx?v=2782

At the Fit4life 4.5mile trail run in Djouce  Woods on Thursday 23rd July, Charlotte Stevens, 43.05, took first prize in her age category and Stefanie Unland, 48.33, was third in her Category. Full results  http://www.slicualann.com/2015-fit4life-results-r7.html

The Castleblaney 10 mile Road race was held on Sat 25th July, Paul Allen ran a fine 67.13, to finish in 30th place overall. Conor Duffy was first man home in 53.50, and first woman home was Anne Linden in 63.47. Full results at http://chipit.ie/?attachment_id=262

On Sunday 26th July a new race on the calendar the Bettystown 5mile was held. First home was David Rooney, Raheny Shamrocks, in an excellent time of 25.19. Laura McDonnell, Tallaght AC, was first woman home in 30.37. Cathy Mitchell ran 39.52, Bobby Mitchell, 32.20, 3rd O/55, Jason O'Connor ran an excellent 35.58 and Richard Kavanagh ran 34.18 to finish 2nd O/60. This was a very well organised event, good course, huge amount of prizes (1 to 10 ind, 1st and 2nd in all Cat plus 1st and 2nd teams) and great food. A race well worth supporting and hopefully next year the weather will be a little bit more kind than this year.
